Custimy is a Customer Data Platform that transforms complex data into visible and actionable recommendations for e-commerce businesses. The platform are able to give you valuable insight into your business, customers and products. Up until this point you were only able to read the data and draw your own conclusions, like so many other types of software.
A list of features i helped shipWe want to give our customers the ability to acquire more profitable, higher spending and more loyal customers, by activating their data.
Building automated integrations to your customers preferred channels, making it possible to create and sync look-a-like audiences, ensuring the best marketing spend.
I needed to get into the mind of a marketeer to find out what makes them tick. This involved some juicy one-on-one interviews with 4 of our arch users, and an competitive analysis of 4 products with similar functionality. The main goal was to really get inside their heads to better understand their need for data-driven decisions.
Data-driven decisions are the building blocks of their marketing strategy, creating a strong foundation for customer engagement, loyalty, and conversions.
Companies wants to own their data - more specifically, the ability to inspect marketing touchpoints that lead to a purchase or sale (attribution).
All participants employed a variety of applications to analyze and take action on first-party data effectively.
We learned that our customers wants complete flexibility to construct audiences (filtering and sorting in their existing customer base).
Our users, who rely on a diverse set of applications to analyze and leverage their first-party data, face a significant challenge in efficiently activating this data across various channels. Through user interviews and analysis, we've identified a common pain point: the absence of a unified and streamlined activation feature within our CDP.
Our goal is to design an activation layer that integrates seamlessly with a diversity of channels our users engage with and ensure compatibility with popular advertising and marketing platforms. Additionally, the solution should be user-friendly and accessible, catering to users with varying levels of technical expertise.
To get the creative juices flowing, I started with rough sketches on paper, to figure out which elements were necessary for each screen, and how to structure the layout most optimal. Then i jumped into Figma to create low fidelity wireframes, in order to begin accounting for egde cases and to get a more structured layout of the page.
By presenting a wireframes of the interface, we emphasize functionality over aesthetics. This allows us to concentrate on the layout, user interactions, and content hierarchy without being distracted by visual details. This was a fairly easy process, since we already built out our design system, from which I could drop various component, and test out it’s visual hierarchy on the page.
This page required a little more exploration of the layout, and figuring out how to structure the flow so it’s easy for the user to understand. I explored a vertical and a horizontal layout of the UI elements, to figure out which worked the best. We decided to go forward with a horizontal layout, in which all the elements would visible without having to scroll.
Before the start of this project I had just finished building out the new design system and deployed it to production using Zeplin. This means that from this point on, we would be able to ship new features faster, have a scalable system, and onboard new without a hassle.
Having the design system before starting the project definitely helped save time and resources. It laid a solid foundation for the entire development lifecycle, ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow in the design phase.
It’s now possible for our customers to build automated integrations to their customers preferred channels. They have the flexibility to construct audiences that match certain parameters, in order to find customers with similar characteristics, behaviours, and interests.
By activating your data, it enables the creation of targeted audiences, providing a dynamic canvas upon which to meticulously test and refine marketing strategies.
In order to get the customer started on working with audiences, we made two predefined audiences for Google And Facebook. These audiences would serve as a starting point, from which they would be able to build upon.
Let’s say the customer didn’t integrate their Google Ad account in integrations yet. They would then be able to do a quick integration without leaving the page. This would prompt the user to integrate all their tools right away, which would result in higher quality of data output.
A list overview of your audiences. Filter based on channels and segments. Audiences would update every 24 hours, syncing potential customers to your look-a-like audience.
Give the audience a descriptive name, and select segments and add filters to create a new audience, to push to your preferred channels.
